i2P was commissioned to do a study based on 1000 ventures that received funding through a federal government research assistance program.
 
They tracked and attempted to interview the champion of each initiative. 100 entrepreneurs from small and medium sized companies were asked a series of questions about how they succeeded or lost traction in their venture.
 
The results of that study have helped form the questions that follow.
